It's hard to believe, but we are down to the final days before our departure to Ethiopia & Uganda! We have been meeting regularly as a team and God is preparing our hearts for all that we are yet to do. Thank you so much for your prayers during this time of preparation. We thank you for your generous gifts and donations to make this trip possible.
As we depart we covet your prayers for
each and every day of our trip. Below is a quick itinerary so you might know
what we are doing on each day and maybe a little of how to pray.
Saturday, October 11
Arrive in Addis Ababa – travel to Debre Zeit where we will
be for the next several days
Sunday, October 12
Church at Mehale Ketema Kale Hewyet Church
Marriage Seminar
Monday, October 13
Outreach in a small rural village sharing the love of Jesus,
playing soccer, and watching the Jesus Film
Business Training
Tuesday, October 14
Home visits with some of the elderly in the pilot program of
ROTOM - Ethiopia
Marriage Seminar with church staff & spouses
Wednesday, October 15
Vacation Bible School for children at church
Each couple gets the opportunity to have a meal with someone
on the church staff and their family in their home
Thursday, October 16
Travel to Addis Ababa and spend the day here
Late night flight to Uganda
Friday, October 17
Youth for Christ Uganda
Men on our team will be evangelizing in a high school
Women on our team will be speaking with young moms who are
learning life skills to provide for their children and make it on their own
Saturday, October 18
Youth for Christ Uganda
Men will be speaking with the young men on their staff and
volunteer teams
Women will be speaking with the girls in the crisis
pregnancy center most of whom are between 12-17 years old
Child-sponsor visits of 2 kids sponsored by 2 couples on the
team
Dinner with Youth for Christ staff, this is a great time of
fellowship and we want to encourage them in their ministry roles
Sunday, October 19
Church and gathering with some US missionaries from Church For All Nations
Monday, October 20
Reach One Touch One Ministries – we will meet their staff,
see their large compound of offices, medical care and much more, along with
visits to some of the seniors in their program
Tuesday, October 21
Reach One Touch One Ministries – today we will get to visit
one of their senior weekly fellowship groups and share in their worship service
and time together
African Village Tour – Mama Maria has such a heart and vision
for God’s kingdom work, we’ll see some of what she has set up and established
on this property – school, guest house, and more
Wednesday, Oct 22
We will travel to our safari and be there until Friday,
October 24 when we will travel back to the city
Friday, October 24
Begin the flight home this evening
Saturday, October 25
6 members of our team arrive home
Remaining 2 have a 1 day layover in London
Sunday, October 26
Final 2 team members arrive home
Over the next few weeks we will have probably have some
opportunity to share more with you while overseas. We will be sure to post on
this site for you to get a glimpse of what we are seeing God do in and
through us, along with any specific prayer requests we might have.
Thank you once again for your prayers for us and for those
we will meet and connect with overseas. We serve a Big God
who is able to do more than we ask or imagine and He has great plans and a
purpose for all that we are going to be a part of.
