Ministry Highlight: Reach One, Touch One

I wanted to take some time to introduce my friends and family to the ministries that we will be visiting in Africa. These people are true super heroes. They work in Africa 24/7 to spread the Gospel by loving their neighbors.

Today, I wanted to focus specifically on Reach One Touch One Ministries in Uganda.

Reach One Touch One (ROTOM) ministers to the elderly in Uganda via a sponsorship program. The goal of ROTOM is to help meet the physical, emotional, spiritual, and financial needs of these beautiful people and the dependents they care for. In Uganda, war and disease has taken the lives of many in the "middle aged" population, leaving children in the care of elderly grandparents.

Check out ROTOM's website and read more about what they are doing:

One of the gifts that we would like to take with us is a donation to ROTOM to start a similar program in Ethiopia. James 1: 27 says: "Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you." I've seen many organizations that seek to help children all around the world, but I personally have never encountered one that cares for the elderly. ROTOM is so special, and I count it an honor to get to see them in action. I just can't wait to meet these beautiful people!

If the work of ROTOM touches your heart, would you consider adding to the gift we will be giving them? Gifts can be given to any team member, or via the PayPal link below.

We are a mere 30 days away from catching a plane to Africa. Things are getting real. Plans are finalized, vaccinations completed, childcare arranged....  Just when I thought we were "wrapping up" our ideas, I believe that fresh waves of inspiration and excitement are crashing over us!

I'm including an updated list of items we are still looking for. Look it over, and raid your closets! ;) I am so very thankful for the incredibly generous people in my life, so THANK YOU for taking the time to read my rambles, and checking the list.
