Tuesday in Ethiopia- Chad's reflections

Let me start off by recognizing ROTOM Ethiopia, ( reach one touch one ministries Ethiopia) if you are not aware of this organization please take time to become informed.

My heart was literally broke as we went and found our first elderly woman. Her conditions were unbelievable. I stated to my close friends here if I had a dog that I did not like I would treat it better than this.

Wow. Wow forgive us Jesus for we know not what we do. We were there with an Rotom director who had brought supplies for this elderly lady. She was absolutely thrilled as we were stapling a new tarp around her stick woven home that was leaning.

About the size of a 6 by 6 shed where her twig woven cot with blankets laid over it she laid. Her feet would hit dirt floors everyday. While I was hanging the tarp I look to see a small puppy tied in the corner of the lot hard to believe but confident it was being treated better. Her shack was 20 feet away from an outdoor bathroom rap with traps for what they would call privacy. At least 6 adults and I don't know how many kids use regularly.

This is only one story out of the four home visits we did that day. but they were all very  similar. Please consider becoming a sponsor. There are currently 13 elderly waiting to be sponsored. $30 a month provides basic needs and care. Also needed is 2,000 to complete the rest of the year's financial budget. I'm not asking because I think this is the Lord's will. It is His will to whom will obey it.

  1. Amen! Truly this is a mission that you want to invest your heart in, several of us can tell you that your support will be used to help bring life and dignity to an older person in need of drastic help. Many Ethiopian men and women, young and old, who love Jesus are working to bring hope to many elderly people in this community with great vision to reach many more beyond their own reach. The need is great. This is Kingdom work with an eternal focus, join us to make a difference. Contact ROTOM directly at http://reachone-touchone.org/contact/rotom-usa to get involved.
